ISG Reports Highlight AI’s Role in Transforming Workplace Services
Upcoming ISG Provider Lens™ reports examine providers helping enterprises use technology and services powered by AI to evolve workplace experiences for employees.
Information Services Group (ISG) III, a global technology research and advisory firm focused on AI, has initiated a research study. This study will evaluate workplace services and solutions tailored to the changing needs of employees in the AI era.
The findings will be published in a series of detailed ISG Provider Lens™ reports aimed at enterprise buyers. Scheduled for release in October, these include six reports on Future of Work – Services covering targeted geographic markets and one global overview report on Future of Work – Solutions.
These reports will analyze providers of various workplace services such as workplace strategy and enablement, collaboration, managed end-user technology, and the creation of smart, AI-augmented workplaces. Additionally, solutions addressing digital employee experience and the AI-enabled digital workplace will also be evaluated.
Enterprise buyers can leverage insights from these reports to assess current vendor relationships, explore new engagement opportunities, and review available offerings. ISG advisors will also use these insights to recommend suitable providers to their clients.
ISG emphasizes that “experience parity” is emerging as a crucial market differentiator. Employers are increasingly seeking work environments that deliver consistent experiences for employees, regardless of their location. Concurrently, employees desire the autonomy to choose their workspace technology, expecting seamless access to devices, applications, data, and workflow processes.
Furthermore, the ability to collaborate effectively is essential. This involves harnessing internal and external tools, such as augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and extended reality (XR). However, enterprises encounter challenges when integrating legacy systems with modern solutions adopted post-pandemic. Addressing these challenges requires the specialized expertise of third-party providers, according to Iain Fisher, director of ISG Provider Lens Research.
Fisher also points out that Generative AI (GenAI) is unlocking new pathways to boost employee productivity. “The performance of workplace technology—whether devices or applications—significantly influences employee experience, and GenAI is becoming a pivotal component of that experience.”
ISG has surveyed over 110 providers of future workplace services across the globe. By collaborating with ISG’s advisory teams, the research group will create six quadrants reflecting the future workplace services that enterprises typically procure. The following are the six quadrants:
- Workplace Strategy and Enablement Services: This quadrant evaluates providers who offer guidance, compliance, and strategies tailored to human, digital, and physical workplaces, factoring in modern business models and talent management approaches. Key services include integrating remote and physical workspaces, planning physical assets, and developing sustainability strategies in the workplace.
- Collaboration and Next-Gen Experience Services: This quadrant assesses providers that enhance both customer and employee experiences through managed services for workplace technology. These providers empower business leaders and CxOs to improve collaboration, align workplace transformation with human requirements, and achieve measurable results.
- Managed End-User Technology Services: This quadrant analyzes service providers who manage technology for IT departments, ensuring robust support for end users. Services focus on user enablement via devices, applications, cloud solutions, and endpoint security.
- Continuous Productivity Services (Including Next-Gen Service Desk): This quadrant evaluates providers aiding the productivity requirements of post-pandemic workplaces. Their offerings may include automated Digital Employee Experience (DEX) triage, AI health monitoring, and the use of emerging technologies like AR and VR.

- AI-Augmented Workforce Services: This quadrant examines providers that develop advanced solutions powered by AI and machine learning (AI/ML). These technologies function as autonomous agents for proactive decision-making, enhancing workflows, and offering personalized support.
Additionally, ISG has surveyed over 40 providers of Future of Work solutions on a global scale. This report will feature two quadrants:
- Digital Employee Experience (DEX) Solutions: Vendors in this quadrant provide solutions to assess and manage the end-user experience with workplace technologies like endpoint devices and applications.
