In early trading on Monday, shares of Verizon Communications rose by 2.8%, making it one of the top performers in the Dow Jones Industrial Average. Year-to-date, Verizon has achieved a gain of 17.1%.
Conversely, International Business Machines (IBM) was the worst performer of the day, falling 1.5% and marking a significant year-to-date decline of 22.8%. Other notable movements included Apple, which dropped 1.3%, and Nike, which increased by 1.4%.
