Mark Zuckerberg Highlights Iren’s Advantages Over Competing Neoclouds

**Data-center company Iren (NASDAQ: IREN) is strengthening its position in the market while other neoclouds pursue high-value deals.** As of recent reports, Iren has secured $2.8 billion in new customer contracts but has not engaged in any major agreements comparable to competitors like Nebius and Hut 8, which signed significant long-term contracts worth $27 billion and $9.8 billion respectively.

Iren now boasts a robust cash position of $7.6 billion, allowing for a patient approach toward future investments in compute capacity. Amid rising demand, the company’s conservative strategy is gaining validation, particularly after Meta Platforms CEO Mark Zuckerberg indicated strong market demand for compute resources during its Q2 earnings call, stating, “We’re getting a lot of offers for compute at a significant premium.”

In comparison, competitors like Terawulf have committed 401 megawatts to Anthropic for 20 years, removing key capacity from the market and potentially enhancing the value of Iren’s offerings as compute resources remain scarce.
