This comes after a mixed performance last week, particularly with the Nasdaq outperforming other indexes.
No significant economic reports are expected today, but notable releases for the week include Case-Shiller home prices and Consumer Confidence tomorrow, Durable Goods and Housing Starts on Wednesday, and numerous data points on Thursday, including jobless claims and Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE).
In corporate earnings, Verizon (VZ) reported Q1 earnings of $1.28 per share, beating expectations by 6 cents, while revenues decreased by 1.7% to $34.44 billion. Conversely, Domino’s Pizza (DPZ) missed forecasts with earnings of $4.13 per share and revenues of $1.15 billion, leading to a nearly 7% drop in pre-market trading.
