Over the past few months, key memory stocks, including Micron Technology (MU), Sandisk Corporation (SNDK), and SK Hynix (SKHY), experienced a significant correction after an overheated rally. Micron’s fiscal third-quarter revenue surged to $41.46 billion, a stark increase from $9.30 billion year-over-year, driven by a robust demand for AI-related memory products. The Roundhill Memory ETF, which includes these companies, recently achieved new one-month highs, indicating a resurgence in market interest.
Micron and SK Hynix are dominant suppliers of high-bandwidth memory (HBM), essential for AI infrastructures, while Sandisk specializes in NAND flash and enterprise solid-state drives, crucial for storage in AI applications. The release of OpenAI’s GPT-6 Astra has further heightened demand for computing power, directly boosting the memory market. Current earnings estimates for these companies remain strong, further supported by constrained supply as AI infrastructure spending accelerates.
As of now, Micron and SK Hynix hold Zacks Rank #2 (Buy) ratings, while Sandisk is at #3 (Hold). Despite the cyclical nature of memory stock performance, optimistic fundamentals and technical indicators suggest that these stocks may be entering a new upward trend following the previous corrections.
