Meta Platforms Inc. (META) has announced a $600 billion investment plan aimed at expanding its AI data center network and enhancing infrastructure in the U.S. by 2028. This initiative seeks to build industry-leading AI data centers to support the company’s development of personal superintelligence.
Since 2010, Meta has supported over 30,000 skilled trade jobs and 5,000 operations roles through its data center projects across the nation. The company also reported a $27 billion funding deal with Blue Owl Capital for its largest data center project globally, aligned with increasing capital expenditures projected at $116-$118 billion in 2025. Following the announcement, META shares traded about 1% lower, closing at $621.71 on Friday.
