Meta Platforms Inc. (META) has launched Muse Spark 1.1, an upgraded multimodal AI model designed for agentic coding and software development. This model was announced by Meta AI chief Alexandr Wang and is currently available in public preview through Meta’s developer portal. Early partners can access it now, while other developers can join a waitlist for the API, which will operate exclusively on Meta’s infrastructure.

Wang described Muse Spark 1.1 as Meta’s most advanced model to date for coding tasks, capable of multistep reasoning, managing complex workflows, bug fixing, and large-scale code migrations. The pricing for the service includes $20 in free credits for new users, followed by $1.25 per million input tokens and $4.25 per million output tokens, as part of Meta’s strategy to drive adoption through competitive pricing.

This launch follows closely on the heels of Muse Image’s release, reinforcing Meta’s ongoing efforts to monetize its AI investments. While the company has historically focused on open-source AI through its Llama models, it is increasingly introducing proprietary models, with an open-source version of Muse Spark still in development.
