Meta’s Creator Fast Track Program
Meta Platforms (NASDAQ: META) has launched the Creator Fast Track program, offering influencers up to $3,000 per month to post on Facebook. The initiative aims to attract users back to the platform, as Facebook currently trails far behind TikTok and YouTube, with users spending less than 19 hours monthly compared to TikTok’s 33 hours and YouTube’s 27 hours.
Under the program, influencers with at least 100,000 followers can earn a guaranteed $1,000 monthly for posting 15 Reels and 10 posts. Those boasting 1 million followers can earn $3,000 per month, but payments are limited to three months. This strategy responds to Meta’s need to boost video engagement and capture younger audiences amidst rising competition in the social media market.
Increased video watching on Instagram Reels (up 30% in Q4), and a noted 7% lift in Facebook video views, indicate that Meta is trying to enhance user interaction through video content. As the social media landscape grows increasingly competitive, this initiative may not be enough to shift user habits significantly.
