Meta Platforms (META) has launched Muse Image, an image-generation model from Meta Superintelligence Labs, on October 10, 2026. This new model allows users to create and personalize images through natural-language prompts and will be integrated across various platforms, including Instagram Stories and WhatsApp chats.
Muse Image features include text rendering, photo editing, and the ability to incorporate content from Instagram. The rollout is part of Meta’s broader strategy to enhance user engagement through AI tools, boasting a 33% increase in advertising revenues to $55.02 billion in Q1 2026. More than 8 million advertisers currently use Meta’s generative AI tools, which have been shown to improve campaign performance significantly.
Meta is facing increased competition in the advertising sector, particularly from Alphabet and Amazon. Alphabet’s advertising revenues grew 19% year over year to boost its offerings driven by AI, while Amazon’s advertising services also expanded, generating $17.2 billion in Q1 2026. Despite stiff competition, Meta aims to retain users within its ecosystem by providing advanced AI capabilities.
