Microsoft launched its reimagined Copilot for enterprise AI in September 2026, featuring three components: Home, Code, and Autopilot. Home integrates chat and delegated work, Code allows non-developers to create apps using natural language, and Autopilot acts as a continuous agent for task management. Currently, Home and Code are available to Frontier program participants, while Autopilot is in private preview. Microsoft announced a new hybrid pricing model that maintains per-user pricing for standard AI usage while implementing consumption-based Copilot Credits for advanced features.

By Q4 fiscal 2026, Microsoft 365 Copilot had surpassed 30 million paid seats, showing a significant sequential growth, while Agent 365 accumulated nearly 40 million agents within two months of its launch. Commercial remaining performance obligations rose by 84% year-over-year to $678 billion. Looking ahead, Microsoft forecasts revenues between $89.85 billion and $90.95 billion for Q1 fiscal 2027, with a projected growth of 16-17%, driven by strong underlying performance in cloud services.

Despite the growth, Microsoft anticipates a 23-24% increase in costs of revenues for the fiscal first quarter and expects operating margins to decline slightly as capital expenditures are projected to exceed $50 billion. Competing firms like Salesforce and Alphabet are also advancing in enterprise AI, with Salesforce’s Agentforce generating over $1.5 billion in annual recurring revenue and Alphabet’s Gemini Enterprise being utilized by nearly 90% of Fortune 100 companies.
