Cotton futures showed mixed trading activity on August 13, with October contracts down 14 points at 66.27 cents/lb, while December increased by 18 points to 67.91 cents/lb. The USDA reported a total of 241,982 running bales (RB) of cotton sold during the week of August 7, accompanied by actual shipments of 142,593 RB.
On the same day, The Seam auctioned 353 bales at an average price of 60.73 cents/lb. The Cotlook A Index rose by 175 points to 79.95 cents, while ICE cotton stocks remained steady at 18,242 bales. Additionally, USDA’s Adjusted World Price (AWP) dropped by 13 points, now standing at 54.39 cents/lb.
