Corn futures are experiencing losses of 2 to 3 cents on Thursday, attributed to external pressures including a rising US dollar index, now at a two-month high, and a $1.01 decrease in crude oil prices. The CmdtyView national average cash corn price is down 2.5 cents, currently at $3.77 ¼. The average close for December futures this month stands at $4.20.

Due to a government shutdown, Export Sales data will not be available, although Reuters estimates that 1.2 to 2 million metric tons (MMT) of corn sales occurred in the week ending October 2. Brazilian corn exports for October are forecasted by ANEC at 6 MMT, an increase from 5.67 MMT in October 2024.
