Among the Russell 3000 index, significant options trading volume was recorded for several companies on October 4, 2023. Penguin Solutions Inc. (PENG) saw 30,752 contracts traded, accounting for approximately 3.1 million underlying shares, or 91.6% of its average daily trading volume of 3.4 million shares. The $80 strike call option expiring on July 17, 2026, led the volume with 3,771 contracts representing approximately 377,100 underlying shares.

Sunrun Inc. (RUN) reported trading of 101,129 contracts, totaling around 10.1 million underlying shares, which is 85.7% of its average daily trading volume of 11.8 million shares. The most active option was the $16 strike call expiring on September 18, 2026, with 20,304 contracts traded, representing approximately 2.0 million underlying shares.

And Strategy Inc. (MSTR) experienced a trading volume of 231,043 contracts, or about 23.1 million underlying shares, approximately 82.5% of its average daily trading volume of 28.0 million shares. The $107 strike call option expiring on July 10, 2026, recorded high activity with 17,548 contracts representing approximately 1.8 million underlying shares.
