Today, significant options trading activity was reported among S&P 500 components, particularly with Alphabet Inc (GOOGL) and Amazon.com Inc (AMZN). GOOGL recorded a total volume of 357,158 contracts, equivalent to approximately 35.7 million underlying shares and 86.5% of its average daily trading volume of 41.3 million shares over the past month. The $180 strike call option expiring on July 11, 2025, saw the highest volume with 38,875 contracts traded.

Meanwhile, AMZN saw options trading volume of 364,634 contracts, representing about 36.5 million underlying shares, or 83.9% of its average daily trading volume of 43.4 million shares. The most active was the $225 strike call option, with 51,623 contracts traded today. Additionally, Lamb Weston Holdings Inc (LW) reported 10,223 contracts traded, representing approximately 1.0 million shares, which is 52.5% of its average daily volume of 1.9 million shares. The $40 strike put option expiring on August 15, 2025, was notably active with 8,653 contracts traded.
