The USDA reported wheat export shipments at 393,341 metric tons (14.45 million bushels) for the week ending December 4, representing a 1.95% increase from the previous week and a 58.6% rise compared to the same week in 2024. The top destinations were Mexico (75,789 MT), Indonesia (75,174 MT), and Vietnam (68,038 MT). Since June 1, 2025/26 marketing year exports have totaled 13.634 million metric tons (500.96 million bushels), a 20.91% increase from the same period last year.
Export sales for the week of November 6 reached 462,478 MT, falling within the estimate range of 250,000 to 600,000 MT but marking a three-week low. This figure is still 21.69% higher than sales from the same week last year. Analysts are predicting USDA’s forthcoming WASDE report will show ending stocks of wheat at 894 million bushels, a decrease of 7 million bushels from last year.
As of December 25, CBOT wheat futures are priced at $5.38 1/4 (up 3/4 cent), while KCBT wheat futures are at $5.21 3/4 (down 1 1/2 cents). Meanwhile, MGEX wheat futures remain steady at $5.81 1/2.
