Morning Cotton Bounces into Wednesday

Cotton contracts experienced an increase of 22 to 31 points at midday on December 16, 2023, with March contracts at 63.41, May at 64.53, and July at 65.6. The US dollar index rose by $0.141 to 97.935, while crude oil futures gained 88 cents to reach $56.15 per barrel.

On December 15, Tuesday’s online auction from The Seam reported sales of 5,155 bales at an average price of 61.24 cents per pound. The Cotlook A Index rose by 5 points to 73.90 cents, and ICE certified cotton stocks decreased by 78 bales, bringing the total to 12,396 bales. The Adjusted World Price was updated to 50.39 cents per pound.
