Interest expenses also grew, reaching $0.7 million, compared to $0.3 million in the same quarter the previous year.

NRC’s declining revenues and compressing margins significantly affected its earnings. An uptick in SG&A costs further pressured profitability, along with a notable increase in interest expenses which impacted net income.

In alignment with its capital allocation strategy, NRC implemented share repurchase and dividend initiatives during the quarter. The company bought back approximately 393,000 shares for around $7.3 million and declared a quarterly dividend of 12 cents per share, amounting to about $2.8 million in total.
