Air Canada Enhances Traveler Experience with Innovative Baggage Tracking Feature
New Sharing Tool Improves Baggage Location Updates
Air Canada introduces a feature that allows customers to track their checked baggage using an AirTag or other Find My network accessory. This service helps expedite the reunification process in case of delayed bags.
- Step 1 – Affix your tracking tag.
- Step 2 – Check your bag at the drop-off station.
- Step 3 – Proceed to security and enjoy some relaxation at the gate before boarding.
6. Travel with an AirTag or other Find My network accessory in your checked baggage
If customers find their bags delayed, the new Share Item Location feature allows them to securely share their bag’s location with Air Canada’s customer service. This feature aims to reunite customers with their baggage more efficiently:
- Create a Share Item Location link through the Find My app on an iPhone, iPad, or Mac, and share it with Air Canada’s baggage team via their Delayed Baggage Claim website.
- For privacy, location sharing automatically ends when the bag is returned to the customer. It can also be canceled at any time and expires after seven days.
- Ensure your Apple device is running iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2, or macOS 15.2 or later to utilize this feature.
Traveling Internationally?
Travelers should explore Air Canada’s Travel Ready Hub or refer to the Air Canada app for the most current government entry requirements. Customers must ensure they have the necessary travel documents, visas, health certificates, and meet all other eligibility criteria for their flights.
