Netflix (NFLX) has launched Netflix Playground, a standalone gaming app for children aged eight and under, on April 28, 2026. This app is included with all Netflix memberships and features a library of ad-free, purchase-free mini-games based on popular characters from Peppa Pig, Sesame Street, and more. Currently available in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Australia, the Philippines, and New Zealand, the service plans a global rollout later.

The Playground launch comes as part of Netflix’s broader expansion into kids’ programming, which has seen significant viewership growth. From 2023 to 2025, four of Netflix’s most-watched shows were in the kids’ genre, solidifying this content category’s importance. The company reported a strong fourth quarter in 2025 with $12.05 billion in revenue, up 18% year over year, and over 325 million paid memberships.

For 2026, Netflix projects revenues between $50.7 billion and $51.7 billion, reflecting a year-over-year growth of 12% to 14%. With a solid financial outlook and an increasing focus on interactive children’s content, Netflix aims to enhance user engagement in a competitive streaming market against giants such as Disney+ and Apple Arcade.
