Nvidia’s $10 Billion Investment in Anthropic

Nvidia is in discussions to invest up to $10 billion as an anchor investor in Anthropic’s planned initial public offering (IPO), which is expected to value the AI company at roughly $2 trillion. This potential investment follows a previous commitment made in November 2025, where Nvidia agreed to invest a similar amount linked to its own computing capacity.

If realized, this $10 billion would represent around half of 1% of Anthropic at the projected valuation, amounting to a notable portion of a prospective $100 billion raise in the IPO. As of July 26, 2023, Nvidia has accumulated over $47.9 billion in private company stakes, significantly boosting its investment portfolio from $3.8 billion over the past year.

Anthropic aims to utilize funds from its IPO to expand its computing capabilities, having already secured additional capacity from competitors like Amazon and Google. As it stands, the IPO may delay past the midterm elections in November, with both Nvidia and Anthropic yet to confirm the details of the investment talks.
