Nvidia Plans to Ship H200 Chips to China Starting Mid-February 2026
Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) is set to begin shipping its H200 processors to China before the mid-February Lunar New Year holiday. According to a Reuters report, the company aims to deliver between 40,000 and 80,000 units within this timeframe. Each H200 chip is priced at approximately $32,000, potentially generating between $1.28 billion and $2.56 billion in revenue in Q1 fiscal 2027, which starts at the end of January 2026.
This development follows Nvidia’s agreement with the Trump administration that permits sales of the H200 GPUs to approved Chinese customers, with a requirement to remit 25% of Chinese revenue to the U.S. government. The company is also planning to expand its production capacity for these chips, with new orders anticipated in Q2 2026, suggesting strong demand from major Chinese tech firms like Alibaba, ByteDance, and Tencent.
Nvidia’s backlog of data center chip orders is currently around $275 billion, and analysts are optimistic about the company’s earnings potential, which are forecasted to increase from $4.69 to $7.52 per share in the next fiscal year. This anticipated boost in revenue from the Chinese market may enhance Nvidia’s performance in 2026 compared to previous years.
