Nvidia Reports Strong Earnings Growth Amid Share Buyback

Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) posted a 120% year-over-year increase in adjusted earnings per share to $2.22 for the fiscal second quarter ending July 26, 2026. Despite a 55% drop in net income for fiscal 2023, revenue grew 106% year-over-year, reaching $96.2 billion. The company’s guidance for the fiscal third quarter anticipates revenue around $108 billion, marking a 12% increase from the previous quarter.

The board approved a $150 billion share buyback, potentially retiring about 4% of its shares at Monday’s closing price of approximately $229. Nvidia also expects to see a 70% revenue increase for fiscal 2028, with margins projected between 72%-73%. The company’s diluted share count was about 1% smaller compared to last year, signaling ongoing efforts to manage shareholder value.
