Meta’s AI Hiring Push
In recent weeks, Meta has been aggressively recruiting top artificial intelligence (AI) researchers, offering lucrative contracts as part of its establishment of Meta Superintelligence Labs. This initiative aims to position the company to compete with industry leaders like OpenAI. Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, acknowledged that a well-funded team of around 150 researchers could potentially develop a rival platform similar to OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
According to reports, Meta’s Superintelligence Labs is being built with raw talent drawn from prominent companies, reflecting an ambitious shift in its strategy towards AI. OpenAI currently boasts approximately 3 million paying enterprise customers and $10 billion in annual recurring revenue (ARR), indicating robust growth in a competitive landscape. This context underscores the challenges Meta’s new team will face as it seeks to carve out a share of the AI market.
