Nvidia Unveils Agentic AI and New Vera CPUs
On Nvidia’s latest earnings call, CEO Jensen Huang announced a significant shift in artificial intelligence, highlighting the advent of agentic AI—which refers to autonomous systems capable of performing tasks without human prompts. Huang predicted that future workplaces could see an exponential increase in the number of AI agents, from 40,000 to potentially 4 million in various business environments.
Nvidia launched its Vera central processing unit (CPU) last quarter, claiming it is 1.8 times faster than industry standards and provides five times the bandwidth per watt. The company anticipates $20 billion in revenue from these CPUs for the current fiscal year, with projections to more than double that by fiscal year 2028. Bank of America projects the CPU market to grow from $35 billion to $170 billion by 2030, emphasizing the emerging role of agentic AI in driving efficiency across industries.
