Oracle Reports Significant AI GPU Deliveries

Oracle (NYSE: ORCL) delivered 850 megawatts of AI capacity, equivalent to over 300,000 GPUs, in its fiscal first quarter of 2027, which ended on August 31. This represents an increase of nearly threefold from the previous quarter and 73% of the total delivered throughout fiscal 2026. The company’s GPU utilization rate was reported at 97.9%, indicating high demand for its services.

In Q1, Oracle secured over $30 billion in new AI contracts, contributing to a 121% year-over-year surge in cloud infrastructure revenue, totaling $7.4 billion. Notably, GPUs up for renewal were resold at a 20% premium, with many being over four years old, highlighting a potential shortage in GPU supply amid rising demand.

Oracle’s campus in Abilene, Texas, which supports OpenAI, received 131,000 GPUs during this quarter. As of now, Oracle’s performance obligations stand at $664 billion, an increase of $209 billion from the previous year.
