The global PC market saw a 2.5% increase in shipments year-over-year, reaching 65.6 million units in Q1 2026, according to the International Data Corporation (IDC). This marks the 10th consecutive quarter of growth, although the rate has slowed significantly from previous quarters, which experienced growth rates between 4.9% and 9.6% in 2025.
Lenovo led the market with shipments of 16.5 million units, an 8.6% increase, capturing a 25.2% market share. Dell Technologies followed, shipping 10.3 million units (7.7% growth), while Apple increased shipments by 9.1% to 6.2 million units. Conversely, HP Inc. saw a decline of 4.9%, with 12.1 million units shipped. The outlook for the industry is uncertain, with ongoing memory shortages and geopolitical tensions, particularly in the Middle East, impacting supply chains and potentially driving up prices.
Amidst these challenges, IDC forecasts a volatile market environment for 2026, favoring companies with robust supply-chain networks and diverse product offerings. Stakeholders are advised to remain cautious due to rising component costs and fluctuating demand.
