Peter Thiel, co-founder of PayPal and Palantir Technologies, has sold his entire position of 537,742 shares (40% of his portfolio) in Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) during the third quarter of 2025. Nvidia, known for its significant role in the AI sector, reported a record revenue of over $130 billion in the last fiscal year. While its stock has experienced considerable gains amidst the AI boom, Thiel has shifted his investment strategy toward Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) and Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL).
Thiel acquired 49,000 shares of Microsoft, making it 34% of his portfolio, and bought 79,181 shares of Apple, which now constitutes 27% of his portfolio. This move indicates a strategic rotation from an AI-heavy stock like Nvidia, which may be perceived as riskier, to established tech giants that offer broader revenue bases beyond AI alone.
