Philippe Laffont, co-founder of Coatue Management, forecasts that Bitcoin’s market capitalization could reach $5.2 trillion by 2030, suggesting a 153% upside from its current value. This positions Bitcoin to potentially become the third most valuable asset globally, following Microsoft and Nvidia, and overtaking Amazon, Meta Platforms, and Tesla.
Coatue’s annual East Meets West conference highlighted the shifting perceptions of Bitcoin from a highly speculative asset to a more mainstream financial asset. Other Wall Street analysts, including Tom Lee of Fundstrat, have similarly projected substantial price increases for Bitcoin, with long-term targets ranging from $1.5 million to $3 million per coin, indicating market caps between $31 trillion and $63 trillion.
As Bitcoin gains traction, companies like MicroStrategy and GameStop are incorporating it into their balance sheets. Investors interested in Bitcoin can consider options like the iShares Bitcoin Trust and ARK 21Shares Bitcoin Trust, which provide indirect exposure without the need to own the cryptocurrency directly.
