Lean hog futures saw gains of up to 55 cents on Tuesday, January 22. The USDA’s national base hog price remained unreported due to low volume, while the CME Lean Hog Index rose by 39 cents to $84.01.
The USDA reported a pork carcass cutout value of $97.88 per cwt, an increase of 62 cents. In terms of slaughter, 426,000 hogs were federally inspected on Monday, which is 5,000 head above last week but 5,345 head below the same week last year.
February 2026 hogs reached $88.850, up $0.550; April 2026 hogs were at $96.750, up $0.025; and May 2026 hogs stood at $100.275, up $0.050.
