Nvidia Gains Access to Chinese Market for H200 Chips
In December, President Donald Trump announced that Nvidia will be allowed to sell its advanced H200 processors to approved customers in China, reversing earlier restrictions imposed in April. This decision enables Nvidia to tap into high demand from Chinese tech companies, who have reportedly placed orders for over 2 million H200 chips.
Nvidia’s H200 chips, priced at approximately $27,000 each, are expected to generate significant revenue, potentially reaching $40 billion in fiscal 2027. The company aims to fulfill this demand with increased production from its foundry partner, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing, starting in the second quarter of 2023. Analysts estimate a substantial revenue leap from $320 billion in fiscal 2026 to $360 billion if these projections from the Chinese market are realized.
