PPL Corp (Symbol: PPL) has surpassed Devon Energy Corp (Symbol: DVN) to become the 302nd largest company in the S&P 500, according to The Online Investor. As of now, PPL’s market capitalization stands at $29.59 billion, compared to Devon’s $28.45 billion.
Market capitalization plays a crucial role for investors as it provides a more accurate comparison of a company’s value than stock price alone. On Friday, PPL’s shares fell about 0.8%, while Devon’s declined approximately 3.5% at the closing bell.
