Qualcomm Incorporated has acquired Autotalks, a leader in vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication systems, to enhance its Snapdragon Digital Chassis product portfolio. The acquisition, announced recently, aims to optimize traffic flow and public safety globally by enabling real-time communication between vehicles, pedestrians, and roadway infrastructure. The V2X solutions will comply with global standards such as DSRC and C-V2X.
In September 2023, Qualcomm also signed a multi-year deal with Xiaomi to develop next-generation Snapdragon technology for smartphones and edge devices. The company’s stock has seen a decline of 26.4% over the past year, while earnings estimates for 2025 and 2026 have decreased by 0.25% and 3.18%, respectively, indicating bearish investor sentiment.
Despite robust demand in the automotive and IoT sectors, Qualcomm faces challenges from competitors like NVIDIA and Intel, and concerns over its significant reliance on the Chinese market amid trade tensions. The company continues to focus on innovation and acquisitions to strengthen its market position.
