Qualcomm Incorporated (QCOM) has launched the Arduino VENTUNO Q, a development platform utilizing its Dragonwing IQ-8275 processor, aimed at enhancing its presence in the edge artificial intelligence (AI) market. This platform, unveiled recently, offers up to 40 TOPS of AI performance, 16GB of LPDDR5 memory, and 64GB of eMMC storage, targeting applications in robotics, industrial automation, predictive maintenance, and smart cities.
The Dragonwing IQ-8275’s architecture pairs an AI processor with an STM32H5 microcontroller, enabling robust AI functionalities alongside real-time motor control. Qualcomm expects to collaborate with partners like SECO and Toradex through Arduino’s “Works with Arduino” program to develop production-grade modules based on this technology.
In recent market performance, Qualcomm shares have increased by 0.5% over the past year, in contrast to the industry average growth of 45.2%. Currently, the company’s shares trade at a price-to-earnings ratio of 15.88, above the industry ratio of 13.48, while fiscal 2026 earnings estimates declined by 1.9% to $10.54 over the past 60 days.
