Quantum Corporation (QMCO) has launched Quantum Autonomous Data Management (ADM) to assist organizations in managing growing data volumes more efficiently. The solution aims to reduce storage costs and risks while enhancing operational efficiency. This rollout responds to the increasing need for data governance amid rising demands from traditional applications, AI workloads, and digital transformation initiatives.
The ADM solution employs an “assess, automate, optimize” approach by analyzing enterprise data to determine what should be stored or deleted, thereby helping organizations reclaim storage capacity and lower costs. In its first-quarter fiscal 2027, Quantum reported a revenue increase of 25.7% year-over-year, totaling $80.8 million, driven by strong demand for its ActiveScale and tape storage solutions. However, the company faces supply constraints, particularly with tape drives, which limits its ability to meet demand.
In the competitive landscape, rivals like NetApp, Inc. (NTAP) and Dell Technologies Inc. (DELL) are also seeing increased enterprise spending on AI-related storage solutions, with Dell raising its fiscal 2027 revenue outlook by $25 billion. This highlights a broader trend in the industry as companies pivot towards modernizing data management systems amidst growing data challenges.
