SpaceX Plans Major IPO with Retail Investor Focus
SpaceX has officially filed for an initial public offering (IPO) expected later this year, aiming for a valuation as high as $1.75 trillion and seeking to raise between $50 billion and $75 billion in new capital. CEO Elon Musk intends to allocate up to 30% of the shares to retail investors, which is significantly higher than the typical 5-10% allocation seen in most IPOs.
The IPO’s roadshow will begin on June 8, with major investor events planned for June 11, where approximately 1,500 retail investors will be invited. Data indicates that 86% of bettors on Kalshi expect the IPO to occur before August 1, while 83% believe it will happen by July 1. The official IPO prospectus is not expected until late May, which will provide further clarity on the timeline.
