Unshackle yourself from the tyranny of paper clutter!- Believe it or not, you can give a piece of document a digital life using a tool you carry in your pocket every day. That’s right; you can scan documents using an iPhone with consummate ease. Document scanning support was integrated into iPhones back in 2017 with iOS 11. This feature has gone from strength to strength and has now been supercharged in the latest iOS 17 update.

The days of fretting about a dedicated, third-party app for scanning documents are over. No more subscriptions, ads, or privacy concerns – the in-built Notes app is an absolute document-scanning wiz.

Next time you need to elevate a receipt or a registration document to the digital realm, simply whip out your iPhone or iPad and follow the straightforward steps below.

The Quick and Easy Guide to Scanning Documents on iPhone and iPad

  • Access the Notes app on your iPhone or iPad.
  • Select the Camera button.
  • Opt for the Scan Documents option.
  • Your iPhone will automatically scan the document and align the margins on its own.
  • You can also manually capture the scan – tap the Shutter button or press a volume button. Then, adjust the margins manually and tap Keep Scan once satisfied with the alignment.
  • Tap Save.

Should you have additional documents to scan, simply add them after completing the first scan.
