ASML Holdings and Applied Materials are pivotal suppliers of semiconductor equipment essential for AI processor manufacturing. Over the past year, ASML’s shares have surged by 150%, while Applied Materials’ have increased by 200%. ASML reported Q2 revenue of approximately $10.8 billion, up 21%, and earnings per share (EPS) of $8.81, while Applied Materials posted sales of $7.9 billion, a growth of 11%, with an EPS of $2.86.

Chip designers Nvidia and Broadcom are also significant players in the AI sector, controlling 86% of the data center GPU market. Nvidia’s Q1 2027 sales reached $81.6 billion, a striking 85% increase, with EPS jumping 140% to $1.87. Broadcom experienced Q2 revenue growth of 48%, hitting $21.2 billion with EPS increasing 54% to $2.44. Both companies capitalized on soaring AI demand, achieving gross margins of 75% and 77%, respectively.

Capital expenditures across tech sectors are projected to exceed $1 trillion next year, a notable increase from approximately $705 billion this year, signaling continued investment in AI technologies.
