Shopify Inc. reported a 35% year-over-year increase in its Merchant Solutions revenues, reaching $2.9 billion in Q4 2025. This growth is attributed to a 38% surge in Gross Merchandise Volume (GMV), which amounted to $123.8 billion, driven by both existing and new merchants. The company anticipates revenue growth in the low 30s for Q1 2026, similar to Q4 2025, bolstered by strong performance in Merchant Solutions and international expansion.
Shopify’s ongoing AI initiatives and new merchant tools like Shop Cash and Sign in with Shop are enhancing user experience and attracting more merchants. The Zacks Consensus Estimate for Q1 2026 Merchant Solutions revenues stands at $2.23 billion, indicating a growth of 28.1% year-over-year, while total revenue estimates are pegged at $3.08 billion, suggesting a 30.6% increase from the previous year.
Despite these gains, Shopify faces significant competition from Wix.com and Amazon. Wix is expanding its AI-driven services and user base, while Amazon’s dominance in the U.S. e-commerce market strengthens its competitive edge through innovations like the “Buy with Prime” service.
