Significant Thursday Options Trading Highlights: RRC, PCT, HD

Among the underlying components of the Russell 3000 index, notable options trading activity was observed on October 5, 2023, particularly in Range Resources Corp (RRC), which saw 15,639 contracts traded, equivalent to approximately 1.6 million underlying shares. This represents about 73.3% of RRC’s average daily trading volume of 2.1 million shares. A significant portion of this volume was attributed to the $45 strike call option expiring on December 18, 2026, with 10,710 contracts changing hands.

In addition, PureCycle Technologies Inc (PCT) reported trading of 21,027 contracts today, representing around 2.1 million underlying shares, or 65.3% of its average daily volume of 3.2 million shares. The $10 strike call option expiring on January 21, 2028, accounted for 5,051 contracts.

Home Depot Inc (HD) also experienced heightened activity, with 23,500 contracts traded, equal to approximately 2.4 million underlying shares, constituting 61.5% of its average daily volume of 3.8 million shares. The $315 strike put option expiring on October 16, 2026, saw 1,482 contracts traded.
