Significant Tuesday Options Movement in AVGO, GOOG, and MS

On October 10, 2023, significant trading activity was observed in options for three S&P 500 companies. Broadcom Inc (AVGO) recorded a total volume of 119,658 contracts, equating to approximately 12.0 million underlying shares, which is 55.1% of its monthly average trading volume of 21.7 million shares. The $285 strike call option expiring on July 18, 2025 accounted for 8,879 contracts, or about 887,900 underlying shares.

Alphabet Inc (GOOG) also saw notable activity with 135,338 contracts traded, representing around 13.5 million underlying shares, which is 46.6% of its average daily volume of 29.0 million shares. The $185 strike call option for the same expiration date had 17,387 contracts traded, roughly 1.7 million underlying shares.

Additionally, Morgan Stanley (MS) had a volume of 24,342 contracts, equivalent to about 2.4 million underlying shares—making up 42% of its average daily volume of 5.8 million shares. The $145 strike call option set to expire on July 18, 2025 showed 2,424 contracts traded, translating to approximately 242,400 underlying shares.
