Soybean futures experienced declines on Thursday, dropping between 6 to 7.25 cents, with current trading showing a slight recovery of 2 to 3 cents on Friday. The Barchart national average cash bean price is currently at $11.55 per bushel, down 1 cent. Preliminary open interest rose by 14,419 contracts.
Export sales data from July 9 revealed that 188,274 metric tons (MT) of old crop soybeans were sold, marking a 30.74% decrease from the same week in 2025. Notably, China purchased 133,900 MT, while Egypt secured 51,100 MT. For new crop business, sales reached 1.77 million MT, contributing to a total of 4.598 million MT, with China buying 1.056 million MT and 624,600 MT sold to unknown destinations.
Soybean meal export sales for the same week totaled 228,235 MT, aligning with estimates, while bean oil bookings resulted in net negative sales of 122 MT. Trading data showed August soybeans closing at $11.95, down 7.25 cents, with other contracts also reflecting minor declines.
