Soybean futures experienced losses on Thursday morning, trading down 5 to 6 cents following a decline of 8 ½ to 11 ¼ cents on Wednesday. The cmdtyView national average Cash Bean price was recorded at $10.95 1/2, down 11 1/4 cents. Overall open interest fell by 3,408 contracts on Wednesday.
USDA Secretary Vaden stated in a Wall Street Journal report that he anticipates China will fulfill its commitment to purchase 25 million metric tons (MMT) of U.S. soybeans this year, with initial orders already placed. However, USDA’s Export Sales data showed only 317,000 MT of sales for the 2026/27 season to unknown destinations.
Expectations for today’s Export Sales report predict old crop soybean sales between 100,000 and 500,000 MT, while sales for 2026/27 are estimated at 60,000 to 300,000 MT. Additionally, soymeal sales are forecasted between 200,000 and 600,000 MT, and net reductions in soy oil sales are anticipated between 5,000 and 16,000 MT.
