Soybean contracts experienced slight declines on Wednesday, with prices falling between fractional to 1 ¼ cents. The cmdtyView national average cash bean price dropped by 1 3/4 cents, settling at $10.97 3/4. Additionally, 244 deliveries were issued overnight. Soymeal futures decreased by $2.20 to $4.80, while soy oil futures rose by 20 to 82 points in the front months.
The USDA’s weekly Export Sales report, set for release on Thursday morning, is anticipated to reveal soybean sales ranging from 0.3 to 1 million metric tons (MMT) for the week ending February 26. New crop business is projected at 0 to 100,000 MT. Soybean meal sales are expected to be between 200,000 and 550,000 MT, while soybean oil may see net reductions of 20,000 MT to net sales of 26,000 MT.
Also on Thursday, Statistics Canada will disclose planting intentions data for 2026, with a Reuters survey estimating canola acres at 22.3 million, an increase from 21.5 million acres in 2025 if realized.
