**Soybean Market Update – August 25, 2023**
Soybeans are currently trading with midday losses of 6 to 9.5 cents, with the cmdtyView national average cash price at $11.40, up 8.5 cents. Soymeal futures have decreased by $4.00 to $4.50, while soy oil futures are down by 120 to 140 points. USDA reported a private export sale of 252,000 metric tons of soybeans for the 2026/27 cycle, while old crop soybean sales stand at 41.682 million metric tons, which is 101% of the USDA forecast.
Additionally, recent rain across Nebraska, the Dakotas, and Minnesota is expected to bring 1 to 2 inches in parts of Missouri, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio in the coming week. June crush data is set to be released on Monday, with an expected crush of 218.3 million bushels, and soybean oil stocks projected at 2.025 billion pounds. Notably, China’s Sinograin sold 249,000 metric tons of soybeans from a recently offered 501,000 metric tons.
