Soybean Prices Plummet Midweek Amid Continued Wet Weather Projections

On Wednesday, August 26, soybean prices fell significantly, with losses reaching up to 34 cents. The cmdtyView national average Cash Bean price decreased by 31 ¾ cents to $11.46 ¼. Soymeal futures dropped between $2.50 and $5.00, while Soy Oil futures lost 30 to 159 points.

In the week starting July 23, USDA export data is expected to show weekly Export Sales of U.S. soybeans ranging from a net reduction of 200,000 to an increase of 300,000 metric tons (MT) for the 2025/26 cycle. New crop sales are predicted to fall between 0.7-1 million MT, while soybean meal sales are anticipated between 200,000 and 550,000 MT.

As of August 26, the closing prices for soybeans included $11.78 (down 34 cents) for the nearby contract, $11.76 (down 28 ¾ cents) for September, $11.92 ¾ (down 27 ¼ cents) for November, and $11.34 ¼ (down 26 ½ cents) for the new crop contract.
