At midday trading, soybeans are up 3 to 7 cents, with the cmdtyView national average cash price reaching $11.45 1/2—an increase of 5 1/4 cents. Soymeal futures climbed by $1.30, while soy oil saw a rise of 30 to 38 points. The August soybean contract expires today, with 138 deliveries reported overnight.
This morning, the USDA announced a private export sale of 136,000 metric tons of soybeans to China for shipment in the 2026/27 period, bringing the total sales for the week to 641,000 metric tons, all to China. The USDA’s export data indicates that current old crop soybean sales have reached 41.79 million metric tons, representing 101% of its forecast, while new crop sales stand at 10.13 million metric tons, marking a four-year high.
Looking ahead, the NOPA report due Monday is expected to reveal soybean crush figures of around 221.5 million bushels for July, an increase of over 25 million bushels from last year. Additionally, China’s Sinograin will conduct an auction of 360,000 metric tons of imported beans on Wednesday.
