Soybean futures rose on August 26, with contracts closing at $11.57 ¼, marking a gain of 5 ¾ cents. The national average cash price for soybeans increased by 3 cents to $11.32. A private export sale of 122,000 metric tons of soybeans to China for the 2026/27 crop year was reported, alongside additional purchases of 10 cargoes of U.S. soybeans on the same day.
The USDA’s weekly Export Sales report indicated total sales of 32,157 MT for old crop in the week ending July 30, a marketing year low, while new crop sales reached 903,920 MT, marking a 4-week low for 2026/27. Notably, unknown buyers accounted for 497,500 MT of purchases, with China purchasing 330,000 MT. Additionally, soybean meal sales were reported at 248,090 MT, and Brazil’s soybean exports totaled 13.4 million MT in July, showing a 9.33% increase from last year.
