Soybean Prices Rise Steadily Towards Weekend

Soybean futures saw a late surge on Friday, with September contracts rising by 1 to 4.25 cents and closing at $12.25, marking a weekly increase of 47.25 cents. The cmdtyView national average cash bean price reached $12.02, up 3.25 cents. In contrast, soymeal futures gained $2 to $3.60, while soy oil fell by up to 184 points.

The USDA reported notable soybean transactions, with 712,000 MT sold to China and 720,000 MT to unspecified destinations. After this week’s Crop Tour, Pro Farmer estimated the U.S. soybean yield at 53.3 bushels per acre, with total production projected at 4.572 billion bushels. Additionally, the Commitment of Traders data indicated managed money increased their net long position by 50,300 contracts, bringing the total to 151,662 contracts. The export sales data for 2025/26 showed soybean sales at 39.992 million metric tons, down 18% year-over-year, while new crop commitments reached 11.85 million metric tons, the highest in four years.

China’s Sinograin is set to auction 290,000 MT of imported soybeans on Wednesday.
