Soybean futures showed modest gains, with May contracts trading at $11.67 1/2, up 1/2 cent, while the cmdtyView national average cash bean price rose to $11.02 1/2, an increase of 3/4 cent. Conversely, soybean meal futures fell by $2 to $3, and soy oil futures increased between 190 to 193 points.
Weekly export sales data released on Thursday revealed 247,886 metric tons (MT) of 2025/26 soybeans were sold during the week ending April 9, marking a marketing year low and falling short of estimates between 200,000 to 600,000 MT. In addition, soybean meal sales totaled 255,722 MT, below the forecast of 300,000 to 600,000 MT, while bean oil business reported 1,138 MT within expected reductions.
In Brazil, soybean production estimates remain at 177.85 million metric tons (MMT), with an increase in crush by 0.7 MMT and exports rising by 2.1 MMT to reach 113.6 MMT.
