Soybean Prices Surge After Easter Weekend

**Soybeans See Gains Post-Easter**

On Monday, soybean contracts rose by 3 to 5.5 cents, with May contracts closing at $11.66 3/4 and cash prices reaching $10.97 1/2, up 3 1/4 cents. The cmdtyView national average Cash Bean price increased similarly, reflecting a general upward trend in the market.

The USDA reported soybean export shipments at 779,352 metric tons (28.64 million bushels) for the week ending April 2, marking a 12.3% increase from the previous week but a 4.6% decrease from last year. China remained the largest importer, receiving 498,789 metric tons, followed by Mexico and Egypt with 95,852 and 49,217 metric tons, respectively. Cumulative exports for the 2025/26 marketing year stand at 30.67 million metric tons, down 26.3% compared to last year.

In Brazil, AgRural indicates that the soybean harvest is currently 82% complete, trailing last year’s pace of 87%.
